With the CGM system, diabetics are already
a big step closer to the dream of measuring blood sugar levels without stinging
or pricking finger
CGM is short for Continuous Blood Glucose
Monitoring System, a system that has only been on the market for a few
years. The device automatically monitors the blood sugar level around the clock.
The system warns the wearer with a loud signal as soon as the blood sugar level
changes dangerously, for example if the blood sugar level is too low. This
gives the diabetic enough time to take appropriate countermeasures.
The blood glucose meter consists of a
transmitter and a reader. Place the sensor on your stomach or upper arm,
pushing it a few centimetres into the skin. The sensor then continuously sends
the data to the receiving device.
Depending on the model, you have to
replace the sensor approximately every seven days. The effort is limited, with
a little practice you need only a few minutes. The costs, however, are
relatively high.
You have to calibrate the Continuous Blood
Glucose Monitoring System twice a day, i.e. approximately every 12
hours, and for this you need the exact blood values Continuous Blood Glucose
Monitoring System is providing accurate value of blood sugar level so
that patients can measure their blood test easily with this device
